Visit Banteay Srei is considered as the jewel of all Khmer Art, which is built with distinctively pinkish red sandstone.  Built more than 1,000 years ago, Banteay Srei boasts one of the most well-preserved Hindu carvings of Khmer art.

Itinerary

Day 1: Siem Reap – Angkor Wat full day tour

Pick up at 8 am (optional for sunrise) from your hotel in Siem Reap, then drive the Angkor National Park. Start with Angkor Thom, the fortified city of Angkor Thom covers an area of 10 square km. Enter by the monumental South Gate (over a causeway lined on either side by statues of demons and gods, each carrying a giant Naga) to visit Bayon Temple and continue to the Terrace of the Elephants, and then we continue to visit Ta Phrom – it has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. In the afternoon we continue to the World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat – is the largest and most impressive of all the temples and also the 7th wonder of the world. Then return to your hotel after tour.

Day 2: Siem Reap – Phnom Kulen Waterfall and Banteay Srei temple

Pick up at 8 am and then drive 50 KM to the northeast of Siem Reap to visit Phnom Kulen Mountain (Mountain of Lychee) a sandstone plateau considered sacred by the Khmers. This place is widely regarded as the birth place of the ancient Khmer Empire. Our vehicle will bring us by a steep dirt road near the top of the mountain, on the way up you will be able to admire a dramatic scenery. There, you will see the ancient sculptures on the riverbed by crossing the bridge, then a stair will take you to a pagoda nestled between large rocks where you will see the biggest reclining Buddha of the country, carved in the rock. Enjoy the view of the countryside from there. ​After a good and refreshing swim with the locals, (don’t forget your swimsuits),

In the afternoon visit to Banteay Srei Temple, the real Hindu temple built in the late 10th century and it is considered to be the jewel of classical Khmer art. This temple is often a favorite among visitors.

Day 3: Siem Reap – Floating Village of Kampong Kleang and Rolous Group

Pickup at 8:00 am and visit to the fishermen’s village of Kampong Kleang on Tonle Sap Lake. During the dry season (February to August), the village can be reached by car or motorbike but from Sep, we take a boat ride to Kampong Kleang where you visit the village with its houses on stilts, floating houses, pagodas, school and see the activities of the villagers before taking a traditional boat to the big Tonle Sap Lake.Lunch in the local restaurant on your own accountAfternoon, visit Rolous Group, once it was the seat of Hariharalaya one of the capital cities of the Khmer Empire it is composed by three major temples: Bakong temple, Lolei temple, and Preah Ko temple. Temples there, are some of the earliest permanent structures built by Khmer. They mark the beginning of classical period of Khmer civilization, dating from the late 9th century. Some were totally built with bricks, others partially with laterite or sandstone.
